Now as for this christianmingle.com, Ive never been on the site, but just like any dating site you need to be careful. There are a lot of people out there that claim to Christian who are CRAZY!!! Im not saying saying God can’t bring you your husband/wife through whatever medium He desires, but if you are rushing the process and not waiting on the Lord you are, more than likely, setting yourself up for failure.

When I was growing up listening to secular artists, especially growing up in a Christian home, I never took the lyrics that serious. Even listening to albums like Ice Cube’s Death Certificate, for example, I just enjoyed the style of delivery and tried to take heed to the message/warnings that he was talking about. I can really say I thank God for the discretion that he put in my heart even then, not realizing it at the time. Nuf respect to Lady Ambassador for always having something to say. Keep being a strong voice in the genre.

Music is a gift which spawns creativity & enables self-expression. “Free Will” allows us the ability to choose how we wish to create our own or, listen to others’. I understand that secular music serves a purpose & yes, it can be inspiring & genuine, but regarding human nature, there comes a time when we all simply crave more spiritually. At the end of the day, The Bible states in 2 Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad” -& to those who have either, yet to come into that knowledge, or, simply don’t believe it; we are yet responsible for how we impact & influence the lives of many.

I (like Lady A) choose God & believe that music & ministry go hand in hand; however, if that same proverbial “hand” is in the symbolic clutches of the enemy, it can be detrimental to more than just the musician him or herself, both naturally & spiritually. When it comes to high quality, effective music (Secular or Gospel) both “Creators” & “Listeners” should share the collective tasks of being responsible & choosing wisely. -Fly

You make some great and valid points and yes the truth is I am tired of listening to the same ol’ nonsense (I dont listen to secular music anyway), thats why keep my cd collection of CHH on heavy rotation. My worry is that a lot CHH artist will come to a point of not being individuals anymore, the “partying lifestyle” that secular artist talk about (like you mentioned). Like an artist will talk about Jesus and God in their song but there wont be any substance of the Word there (unacceptable) or having that garden variety type flow or music on their records. The bible says, we are set apart, so why not act like it!

Amba you said “HARD WORK PAYS OFF” and this is true, but in this Business/Industry/Ministry you have to work even harder to save souls! (Definately dont know why I put that)
